This is a computer-enhanced image of AIDS virus attached to a human host cell. The original is the work of Australian artist Russell Knightley. I've requested permission to use the image in an art quilt to be sold to benefit the AIDS Taskforce here in Fort Wayne.

Sure hope he says yes; I have no other idea for a quilt design and the deadline is approaching quickly!

This would be a wonderful challenge. The design is pretty outstanding and the colors you put in it will make it wonderful keepsake.

You inspire me. I have been doing a quilted piece for an auction to benefit AIDS Quad Cities (IL) for a couple of years now. You inspired me to look for an image to quilt (I watched your video on the altered art process and I'm itching to try it). I found one that belongs to NIAID and have gotten permission to use it. I am soooooooo excited. They are sending me a higher resolution image and then I will be off and running. wish me luck!
